Join the Prison Officers Pistol Club
The Prison Officers Pistol Club (POPC) welcomes membership enquiries from current and former prison officers and members of their immediate families.
POPC offers members the opportunity to participate in organised target shooting competitions, practice sessions and club activities in a safe, friendly and supportive environment.
Important — Category H Firearms Licence Requirements
At present, POPC is only accepting new members who already hold a current, valid Category H (pistol) firearms licence.
Unfortunately, the club is not currently able to conduct the training courses required for first-time firearms licence applicants.
Prospective members must meet the club's eligibility requirements and satisfy the applicable membership approval process.

Early Bird Membership Renewal
Existing members who renew their 2027 membership by 30 November 2026 qualify for the discounted renewal fee of $295, saving $55.
New members pay a one-off joining fee of $200 in addition to their first year's annual membership fee of $350, making the first-year total $550.
All new membership applications are subject to club approval. Applicants must already hold a current, valid Category H (pistol) firearms licence.
How to Join POPC
Interested in becoming a member of the Prison Officers Pistol Club?
We welcome enquiries from eligible applicants who already hold a current, valid Category H (pistol) firearms licence.
1. Contact the Club
Contact POPC to express your interest in joining and confirm your eligibility.
2. Membership Application
Complete the club's membership application and provide the required supporting documentation.
3. Application Review
Your application will be reviewed in accordance with the club's membership requirements and approval process.
4. Welcome to POPC
Once your application has been approved and the applicable membership fees have been paid, you can begin participating in club activities in accordance with club requirements.
